he IASE places a significant emphasis on advancing the sport of surfing through its Coaching and Instruction Program and the global certification of surf coaches.

Pioneered more than 25 years ago, IASE's Coaching and Instruction Program is renowned for its extensive network of the world's top surf coaches and instructors.

IASE's certification is acknowledged as the global benchmark for safety, quality, and effectiveness among surf coaches and instructors in the surfing industry. With over 3,500 coaches and instructors certified across 35 countries, the program serves as a developmental and economic opportunity for the 109 IASE Member Federations and an expansive network of over 85 course presenters worldwide.

IASE Instructor Requirements:

To become an IASE-certified instructor, candidates must first reach the IASE Level 4 certification. Once this level is achieved, they are eligible to apply for instructor training. In addition to the surfing skills required for Level 4, aspiring instructors must complete an instructor training course and a first aid training program to ensure they are fully equipped to teach safely and effectively.
